Palais Galliera – Fashion Mix Exhibition

Palais Galliera is in collaboration with Palais de la Porte Dorée to showcase the Fashion Mix exhibition, located in Palais de la Porte Dorée’s Musée de l’histoire de l’immigration. Fashion Mix is an exhibit dedicated to well-known designers from all over the world who contributed to the international recognition of the French fashion industry.

Fashion Mix is designed like a timeline, it begins with a small tribute to Charles Fredrick Worth, the father of haute couture, and his garments. Afterwards, the exhibit continues with a story of immigration, from the 19th and 20th century, of men and women, designers and artisans, who all played a part in making Paris the fashion capital of the world. On display are fashion house registration documents, migration forms and personal journeys, and iconic designer items like coats, shoes, dresses, and accessories.
