It seems every year there’s at least one natural disaster that wipes out towns and kills thousands. On April 25th, tragedy struck Nepal with an earthquake of 7.8 on the richter scale; the death toll currently stands at over 7,000 and counting with more than 15,000 people injured. Spiritual temples and the country’s centuries old buildings were destroyed, crushing the hearts of the highly religious Nepalis. Countries around the world are stepping up to aid Nepal and the surrounding affected countries. UNICEF, Save the Children, European Union, USAID, the World Health Organization, and many more are teaming together to help with the disaster in any way they can. The U.S. already donated $1 million, but have recently committed to giving another $9 million.
