Jeremy Scott’s “Slime City” SS’17 Runway Show

Jeremy Scott’s SS’17 collection was a mock-up of 1980’s fashion in New York City, a time when prostitution proliferated and the worlds of art and fashion ran wild. Scott found inspiration in the Big Apple’s nightlife and named the collection “Slime City” after the 1988 comedy/horror film. The collection was largely about erotica as it featured bondage gear, bra tops with zippers dangling from the cups, “Rated X” graphic t-shirts, and even a dog-collar style necklace with a leash. In general, models were glammed out with bobbed wigs, bright makeup, and vibrant colors.

A star-studded front row was present to view the 56-look collection, including Paris Hilton, Nicki Hilton, Kelly Osborne, Cameron Dallas, and many others. Lime green, hot pink, and bright shades of blue, all with accents of black, made up the color palette of this collection. While sequins, leather, zippers, and chains made up the rest of it. Although it referenced an era of the past, some silhouettes gave off a futuristic vibe – especially the sequins-covered flying saucer skirt and geometric accessories. What else should we expect from the Moschino creative director?
